Why Chins |
In memory of GismoGismo was a dear little chap, very funny and, though not given to cuddling, very friendly. He would run round my living room and come and sit on my knee or my shoulders. I got him in February after a lot of thought and in June I found him a girlfriend, Tilly. Tilly and Gis were really sweet together and seemed to get on really well. I put the chins to bed on Sunday evening, gave them food, made sure they were secure, etc and they were both happily munching away when I said good night. The following morning I went off to work and they seemed ok, but when I got home in the evening, Gismo was stretched out on the floor of his cage, obviously very poorly. His poor little body was cold and limp, but he was still breathing so I rushed him to the vets. They put him in an incubator with a drip and antibiotics, but sadly he died between 8 and 10pm that evening. I was devastated - still am; poor little boy, he was so sweet and such a baby, why did it have to be him? I don't have many pictures of him - he was a little camera shy - but he will live on in my memory as my first little chinny. Subsequently, a new boyfriend for Tilly has been found - his name is Pan and they seem to like each other, but Gismo is sadly missed. received by email 18/12/02 |
