The following is the sad experience of an owner who's chinchilla escaped from her cage

My name is Krystine and I used to own a couple of chinchillas. My second chin, Layla, is not with me anymore. I ALWAYS leave my bedroom door locked in case Layla ever got out of her cage. Well, while at work one day someone opened my bedroom door and Layla was free. No one noticed that she had gotten out of my room until my brother had to use the bathroom. Layla had run all over the house (leaving little pebbles as she went) enjoying herself until the potty. Someone left the toilet seat up and my precious little pet jumped right on in. Because of the slick porcelain, Layla could not get out and drowned. I am still very upset and have not gotten another chin since. I hope my story will teach other chin owners to be careful to check their pets environment of escape routes. And gentlemen... there is a good reason we ladies prefer the toilet seat down.
