JuanitaThis began after Juanita had tried to jump from the top of the microwave to the top of her cage via my shoulder. As I wasn't aware of my role in this jump I moved slightly and she just missed the top of her cage, landing on the floor (the cage is 3 feet high). I couldn't see anything wrong with her but the next day she began to make odd noises (like a sharp sneeze) and I found blood splattered up the wall behind her cage. I still couldn't find anything external wrong with her so we went to the vets. The vet examined her all over and also found nothing but put her on a course of antibiotics and asked me to "let her know if I found where the blood was coming from"! The odd noises and occasional splashes of blood continued for a couple of days until one morning there was a little pool of blood on her food dish and near it, her tail tip. She had to finish her antibiotic course, the tip healed beautifully and one really wouldn't miss it now. This was in the UK See Juanita - alarming episode two  Juanita |
