Accidents

Cheeky

Webmaster's Experience

Cheeky's age is uncertain but she arrived an adult in August 1996.

Sometimes my chins would stay under my bed settee and waste their time out, I would un-click the mechanism to let some light in and they would emerge. I did this as I had done many times before (but not since) and Cheeky immediately shot into her cage. This was not normal behaviour for her so I checked her out and one of her fore limbs was floppy from the ankle. First thing I took her to the vets and left her in the care of the nurses until the surgery opened. A phone call confirmed she had a break which had been put in a splint. I advised the vet that there was no way she would keep the dressing on. The nurse had said much the same. As the alternative was pinning the vet wanted to see how things went. That dressing remained untouched by Cheeky for the entire six weeks she had the splint on! She was back to her normal ‘cheeky' self, after her 'op', within twenty-four hours and today unless you look, you would never know she'd had an accident. I now check WHILE I am moving furniture.
