Why Chins |
BennyI purchased him from a local Winnipeg (Manitoba Canada) pet store without really knowing anything about chins as pets, but I knew I wanted one. Looking back, I can tell that he was pretty grown up when I got him because I don't think he's become any larger. OK, maybe a little chubbier, but that's all! If I would've read all of the books before-hand I probably wouldn't have picked him because he was going 100 miles an hour at the store and wanted nothing to do with anyone. That's exactly why I chose him though, because of his character. I've had him for about 8 1/2 years now. My guess is that he's over 9 years old, and he shows no signs of slowing down at all. He gets lots of attention and playtime and likes to scrap a bit now and then. I make sure he always has enough food and water. He gets "bath-time" once a day, and has a very large, multi-level cage. And of course he gets a few treats a couple of times a day. Other than getting an eye infection (that was cured with drops and antibiotics), after probably getting something into it, he's been in great shape. (knock on wood) I've found that even though Benny isn't too keen on being held, he still loves to be scratched and played with. Definitely a cool little creature. If I had to wager on it, I
would say he's done so well because of how he's treated by myself and
everyone else in my family. He's everyone's little buddy. He pretty much
knows his name and comes when called. Talk to him and he talks back. Plus
he has a bit of an attitude and would rather move something or someone out
of his way instead of going around. I think he's an exceptional little guy
and although he can be a handful I don't regret ever getting him because
he's affectionate and makes me laugh at the stuff he does. received by email 28th March 2003 |
